Ruth Estelle Nichols passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. She was born on October 13, 1928 in Dublin, TX to her parents, William R. Burney and Stella Mae (White).

Ruth married Coleman Wesley Nichols on March 27, 1949 and together they had three children. She also spent her time as a social worker for the Golden Age Manor in Dublin. Granny Ruth and Aunt Ruth was known for her wonderful cooking, fabulous Christmas gatherings, and Canasta playing. She was a role model for what a grandmother should be to her kids and grandkids.

Mrs. Nichols is preceded in death by her husband - Coleman Nichols; her son - John Harvey Nichols (1978); her brothers - Alton, Robert, and J.D.; and her sister, Helen.

Ruth will be remembered by her daughter and son-in-law - Debbie & Troy James of Dublin, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law - Keith & Bobbie Nichols of Dublin, Texas; her grandchildren - Lori Nichols, Cory James, Nicole James, Jennifer McCrum, Jonna Alvarado, and Sara Holland; her great-grandchildren - Amber, Katelyn, Allison, Emily, Decon, Jordon, Jaisa, Kyson, Emilee, Scout, Khloe, and Pavyn; her great-great grandson - Jackson; her brothers - Frank Burney of Dublin, Texas and Richard Burney of Stephenville, Texas; her sister - Louise Andrle of Stephenville, Texas, and several other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
