Robert Odell Allen passed peacefully at home on March 19, 2023, in Granbury, Texas. Robert was born on January 24, 1939, in McLennan County, Texas to his parents Mary Effie (Dyer) and William Henry Allen. Robert married his lifelong love, Mary Joyce Allen, on June 5, 1959, and together they had 5 children. He loved music and playing the guitar. He also liked astronomy, fishing, and all kinds of animals. Robert was a man of few words, but the ones he did say made him the most loving and kind individual. Especially when it came to his grandkids and giving them all the candy, they wanted and whatever destination came when he would take them on adventures.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joyce Allen, on August 7, 2022, their two children, Terry Allen in 1983, and Tracy Allen in 2020.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Tina Allen, of Buda, Texas, Tim and Hong Allen of Jarrell, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and William Austin of Livingston, Texas, grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Darian, Meranda, and Amber, his great-grandchildren, Bret, Ashton, Reed, Stratton, Devin, Jaylen, Aubrey, and Anna along with a host of numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many others.

Visitation will be held prior to the service at Harrell Funeral Home Memorial Chapel beginning at 12:00pm on Saturday April 1, 2023.

Services will be held Saturday April 1, 2023, at Harrell Funeral Home Memorial Chapel at 1:00pm.

Interment to follow at the Upper Greens Creek Cemetery.
