Odis Wayne Sears, 80, went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2023, in Brownwood, TX. 'Wayne' was born on May 14, 1942, in Gorman, TX to his parents Dave Campbell Sears and Dorothy E. (Allen) Sears. He was raised on the Sears farm in Proctor, TX and graduated from Dublin High School in 1960. Shortly thereafter, joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as a flight crew mechanic, traveling to 17 countries. After being honorably discharged in 1965, he chose to come home to the farm as he always thought "after seeing the world, there is no place I would rather be than right here on the farm." Coming home, he began work as a master mechanic at General Dynamics in Dallas, working on the family farm and ranch in his off time.  After several years, he became a full-time farmer and rancher, working alongside his brothers, Kenneth and Larry Sears. He always loved his children and family dearly and was so proud of them.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father Dave Campbell Sears and brother Dave Kenneth Sears

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Jeffrey Stichler of Conroe, TX, and son, Colby Wayne Sears of Proctor, TX, his grandchildren Cullen and Kylie Stichler, his mother Dorothy Sears of Proctor, TX, his brother and sister-in-law Larry and Sherry Sears of Proctor, TX, his sister-in-law Brenda Sears of Proctor, TX, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him so much.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Proctor Cemetery PO Box 711, Proctor, TX 76468.

Services will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 4 p.m. at the Harrell Memorial Chapel, 112 N. Camden, Dublin, TX 76446.

The visitation will be held at 3 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will be at Proctor Cemetery.
