Obituary

Mary Marjorie Lisso, affectionately known as Nana, passed away peacefully at her home in Hico, Texas, on January 13, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on June 23, 1941, in Dublin, Texas, to Mary (Stanford) and Scott McCann, Margie lived a life full of love and friendship. She was renowned for her gardening skills and her infamous sugar pies on the cheek. Margie never met a stranger and had a special fondness for children, treating them as her own.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Frederick Lisso Sr, her sister Ginny Huckabee, and her grandson Andrew Lisso.

She is survived by her children, Karen Bamber, Fred and Kattie Lisso, Lisa Nunley, Becky and Jim Cornett; her grandchildren, Leann Fincannon, Ashley Turner, Jesse Bamber, Kyleigh Bamber, Rick Lisso, Ryan Lewis, Gavin Lisso, Anna Lisso, Jordan Turner, Shaylee Turner, Dylan Turner, Lane Turner, Daria Dawkins, Dominique Lisso, Jon Lisso, Georgia Cornett; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law and spouse, Helen and Wayne Flores; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Harrell Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm. Services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Harrell Memorial Chapel at 2:00pm with interment to follow at the Cow Creek Cemetery.
