Joycelyn Hatley was born on April 9, 1930 in Gorman, Texas. She went to be with her LORD on May 4, 2016 at the age of 86 years and 25 days. She was the daughter of John Clinton Spikes and Arizona Neville (Gilbreath) Spikes. She was united in marriage to Ermon Eugene Hatley on November 22, 1950 in Tahoka, Texas and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 19, 1998 and by her sisters - LaRue Hanson and Glenda Coffman; her nephew, Edwin Hanson & her niece, Teresa Hanson.
Joycelyn is survived by her daughter & son-in-law - Lisa & Jeffery Weaver of Dublin, Texas; she was known as "Mimmie" by her grandson & wife - Joey & Ashley Weaver of Boston, Mass. and her granddaughter & husband - Katie & Justin Southall of Dublin, Texas; her precious great grandchildren, that were the love of her life: Jacob, Casyn & Bennett; her nephew - Malcolm Hanson; her niece & husband - Anna & Wayne Browder; her nephew & wife - Raymond & Janet Coffman; several great-nieces & nephews and several great-great nieces & nephews; and a host of other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Joycelyn was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Dublin where she served as Sunday School teacher and choir member for many years. She retired from the Dublin National Bank as the Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. She served as the first woman on the Dublin I.S.D. School Board, the Erath County Appraisal District and as President of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. She was named Dublin Woman of the year in 1985.
