John David Johnson was born on July 27, 1953 in Bryan, Texas the son of G. P. Johnson and Francis Charline (Oxford) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann "Patti" Huber on July 26, 1975 in Alice Texas and to this union 3 children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents. On April 1, 2005, his wife preceded him in death. David went to be with his LORD on May 21, 2017 at the age of 63 years, 9 months and 24 days.

David is survived by his daughter & son-in-law - Brandi & Danny Clayton of Stephenville, Texas; his sons & daughter-in-law - Geremy Johnson of Dublin, Texas and John & Ashley Johnson of Dublin, Texas; his sisters & brothers-in-law - Becky & Oran Christian of Arlington, Texas and Kathy Broadwell of Moncure, N.C.; his grandchildren - Elizabeth, Chris, Quinncy, Stacy, Tracy, Jay, Ashlyn, Kya, Audrey & Keeley; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

David was a retired Dublin Police Chief, Dublin's City Manager, an EMT, a Nursing Home Administrator, a member of the Rotary Club, involved with Christmas in April, CASA, Lilly G Riding Club, Dublin Investment Club, and would occasionally play Santa in the Christmas parade.
