John William Davis of Dublin, Texas passed away with his loving wife and family by his side, at the age of 95. John was born to his parents, Mittie Edna (Dorsey) and James Alford Davis on July 27, 1928, in Dublin, Texas. He was a member of the Dublin First Baptist Church and was very involved with the Dublin Community. He also helped build the Dublin Historical Museum. John loved Dublin, his longtime home and even graduated from Dublin Highschool in 1949. John met his light in life, Glenna Davis, and together they had 73 wonderful years and four children. John retired from Traco Westronics and continued to the Dublin Post Office and later retired from there. He loved cats and was an avid Cowboys fan.

John is preceded by his parents, Mittie and James Davis, his sons, Ron Davis, and Dan Davis.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary Davis and Sicily Bush, daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Larry Thomas, his grandchildren, Nick Davis, Emily Davis, Lathan Davis, Kayson Davis, Jeff Thomas, Greg Thomas, Sara Thomas, great grandchild, Presley Thomas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Harrell Funeral Home from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the Dublin First Baptist Church at 10:30.

Interment to follow at New Dublin Liveoak Cemetery.
