Jimmy "Jim" Wells of Dublin, Texas passed away on August 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was a longtime resident of Dublin. He was born in Dublin, Texas on November 26, 1949, to Orvell T. Wells and Ermanell Stroud Wells. He was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church in Dublin.

After graduating from Melvin High School in 1968, he earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree at Tarleton State University. He was a summer missionary in Alaska in 1974. He was a public-school teacher, teaching at Spur, Lorraine, Leuders-Avocado, Milford, Whitney, and at Ranger College. Jim was an ordained minister and pastored the Plainview Baptist Church near Colorado City for several years.

Jim was preceded in passing by his parents, Ermanell and Orvell Wells.  He is survived by his wife, Dianne Wells, brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Sue Wells, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Cottonwood Baptist Church at 11:00am.  Interment to follow at the Cottonwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made through the Cottonwood Baptist Church designated to the Tarahumara Mission Project.
