Jesse Calvin
Rollins
April 4, 1984 – February 10, 2023
Jesse Rollins, 38, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023.
He was born on April 4, 1984, at the Dublin hospital to Betty and Raymond L. Rollins.
Jesse was a man of service who believed in giving back to his hometown and his country.
After graduating from Dublin High School in 2002, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corps in 2003, following in the proud footsteps of several members of his family. Jesse served in the Marines until 2009 as an Organizational Automotive Mechanic.
He was married on Sept. 30, 2006, to Julie Huggins, with whom he had two children, Chloey and Westin.
Described as a jack of all trades, Jesse turned his love of machining and mechanic work into a career. He worked at Rigg's Machine and Welding in Stephenville, in several dairies and at Crane Nuclear, where he worked his way up to management.
In 2020, he partnered with his brother, Ray, to open Jar Head Fabrications with a dream of getting paid for his passion of fixing old motorcycles and cars.
He loved to work with his hands and was always ready to solve mechanical problems at work or at home. Jesse believed in living in the moment and the importance of family and friends.
Jesse was also an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to camp and spend time with friends and family. He treasured the regular trips he took with his family to Proctor Lake in the summer.
Jesse is known to many in the community for his service as a member of the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department and an officer in the American Legion Post 219, where he was Commander.
Through his service in the American Legion, he helped unveil additions to the Veterans Memorial wall by the Dublin Public Library, helped preside over Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies and donated time to projects like refurbishing the flagpole at the old Dublin Cemetery. He also donated time raising money for scholarships through the American Legion at events like the Peach and Melon Festival.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Chloey (16) and Westin (13); his mother, Betty Rollins; his brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Jamie Rollins; his brother-in-law and wife, Michael and Denita Huggins; nieces and nephews, Chance Rollins, Maggie and Sheldon Armstrong, Gabriel, Joshua and Angelica Huggins; grandniece, Oaklee and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Leroy Rollins on Oct. 9, 2021.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 24 from 6 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home (112 N. Camden St.) in Dublin, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Double N Cowboy Church (7202 Hwy 6, Dublin) with Jimmy Holleman officiating.
Jesse's remains will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.
