J.C. Gilbert, 91, passed away March 20, 2020 in Glen Rose, Texas. J.C. was born October 7, 1928 to his parents James Carl Gilbert and Minda (Cathey) Gilbert in Purves, Texas. J.C. married his wife Naomi (Perry) Gilbert on June 18, 1949 and together they raised one son, Donald Gilbert. J.C. was a very hard working man, he started working when he was 13 years old to help support his family. He worked at the peanut mill in Dublin for over 60 years while working as a rancher, farmer, dairyman, and at the feedlot. J.C. was very innovative and creative in finding new ways to accomplish tasks on the farm and dairy, he could fix anything you put in front of him. He had a giving heart and would help anyone who needed it. After retirement, he enjoyed working in the yard and was often complimented on how great his yard looked. He enjoyed mowing and picking pecans for his neighbors in Pecan Plantation.

Donald and Phyllis Gilbert of Dublin, Texas

His grandchildren -
Justin Lee Gilbert of Clear Lake, Texas
Kristen M. Gilbert of Seabrook, Texas

His great-grandchildren -
Kameron Gilbert
Marisol Gilbert
Salvador Gilbert

and numerous other nieces and nephews that will that will miss him dearly.

There will be no visitation.

Grave side service will be Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 11:00 at the Pecan Cemetery in Purves, Texas

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation, your church, or a charity of choice.
