Janey Louise Laquey of Dublin, Texas was born on March 16, 1936, in Bluffton, Arkansas to her parents Anna Pearl (Mathis) and George Lee Carpenter. Janey married her light in life Lon L. Laquey on February 18, 1958, and together had 2 children. Janey loved her family and her community. She devoted 35 years at Dublin ISD shaping minds. Janey continued her days being active in numerous community organizations and leaving her impression on those she encountered.

Janey is preceded in passing by two sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lon Laquey, son and daughter-in-law, Russell, and Betty Laquey, of Midlothian, Texas, daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne, and Cecil Shuler, of San Antonio, Texas, and grandchildren, Daniel, Katy, Cole, Brandon, and Anthony, along with several other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin, Texas from 5:00-7:00pm.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at New Dublin Liveoak Cemetery to begin at 10:30am.
