FUNERAL SERVICES:10:30am.Saturday,Sept.5th at Cottonwood Baptist Church.

VISITATION: 6 to 8 pm. Friday at First Baptist Church.

BURIAL: DeLeon City Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: Dublin Fire Department or Dublin Public Library.

James Lloyd Fritts (70) Dublin Fire Chief went to be with his LORD on September 1st. He was the son of Lloyd Fritts and Vera Mae (Bratton) Fritts born on July 7, 1945 in Gorman, Texas. He is survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David & Lisa Fritts of Dublin; his sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Barry Authur of Abilene, Texas; his brother & sister-in-law, Harold & Rebecca Fritts of Lingleville, Texas; his partner-companion, Laura (Young) Jones of Dublin; his extended family, Janna Johnson & family of Hico, Texas, Jeff Keese & family of Willow Park, Texas, and Elizabeth Young of Dublin, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

James was a graduate of Tarleton University, taught Science, Biology & Chemistry at Dublin High School. He started Fritts Electric Company and in 1972 he opened the Dublin Dairy Queen and later in Hamilton, Comanche, Cisco and Brownwood, Texas. He joined the Dublin Fire Department in 1967 and became the Fire Chief in the mid 70's and was the Fire Marshall for 40 years. He taught at the Texas Municipal Fire School at Texas A&M University for 28 years. He also farmed and ranched in the Dublin area and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dublin.
