Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Hancock Cook was born in Dublin, Texas, on February 28, 1942, to Millie Hancock and Lawrence Bethel Hancock. She attended school in Dublin graduating in 1960 and was cheerleader at Dublin High School. She was an amazing seamstress from an early age, a gift she got from her mother. She enjoyed making clothes for herself and then for her children and ultimately her grandchildren. She was so gifted that she could make formals from a picture in a magazine, quilts of all sizes and shapes and even a wedding dress. Elizabeth loved attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events. She was a trooper through soccer games, football games, golf tournaments and many other school events. She wore their photo buttons with pride. She married the love of her life, Gerald Don Cook, in 1986 in Fort Worth, Texas. Elizabeth was a devoted member of the Highland Avenue Congregational Methodist Church in Dublin. She and Gerald loved helping with VBS each year and often came up with wonderful craft projects for the VBS kids. Elizabeth worked as a secretary and took great pride in her work. She worked at Bruner Auto, Tarleton State University, East Texas State University, Centel Phone Company and retired from U.S. Soil Conservation Service. She is survived by her children: Terri White (Brant), John Bryant, Tonya Dobson (Terry), Rhonda Fossett (Greg) and Christy Gonzalez (Alfredo). Although she loved her children, her pride and joy were her grandchildren: Taylor Keith, Jeck White, Clancy Bryant, Shelby Bryant, Tristan Dobson, Tatum Dobson, Taylor Fossett, Patrick Timmons and Brittany Timmons. She was blessed with 6 great grandchildren. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Cook, her parents, her brothers, William Hancock and LB Hancock, her sister, Ruby Jean Hancock and one son, Alvin Bryant. Specials thanks to Three Oaks Retirement Center who loved and took care of mom in her last days.
