Clarence Wayne (C.W.) Smith ,87, went to be with the Lord July 9, 2022, in Dublin, Texas. He was born July 1, 1935, to his parents Ernest Smith and Maggie Ruth (Shelton) Smith in Dublin, Texas. C.W. married Peggy Charlene (Starnes) Smith May 28, 1955, and together they had 3 children. He loved visiting friends at Grannie Clark's, and his church as well as attending the Sunday School classes. He enjoyed watching College Basketball and Football games. He loved hanging out with his best buddy, R.J. Stewart.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Peggy Charlene (Starnes) Smith on April 24, 2007, his four brothers, and one sister.

C.W. is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Rickey and Lana Smith of Athens, Texas. His daughter and son-in-law Connie and Kurt Cheatham of Sulphur Springs, Texas. His daughter Darlene Nelson of Gainsville, Texas. His grandchildren Cody and Karey Smith, Cal and Lindsay Smith, Justin and Natalie Cole, Chrissy Cole, Britney and Jake Maxton. His great-grandchildren Sam, Felicity, Ryli Ann, Kinsler, Colter, Tatum, Londyn, Molly, and several other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
