Connie William Welch, a dedicated professional and proud veteran, passed away on June 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by commitment to God, family, country, and community. Born on March 15, 1944, in Gorman, Texas, Connie lived a life distinguished not only by his 38-year career at Dr. Pepper Bottling but also by his service to the nation as a proud bronze star veteran of the Vietnam War.
Connie’s work ethic and loyalty were evident throughout his long tenure at Dr. Pepper Bottling, where he contributed significantly over nearly four decades. His dedication extended beyond his professional life, as his favorite thing in the whole world was his family, especially his children and grandchildren, demonstrating a profound love that was the cornerstone of his personal life. Connie was deeply passionate about his strong Christian faith that he helped ensure runs generations deep.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janie Welch, who stood by his side through the many chapters of their life together. Their children, Cheryl and Mark Huckabee, Rex and Christi Welch, and Misty and Jeff Hollingsworth, carry forward his values and spirit. Connie’s legacy is enriched with numerous grandchildren—Connor and Addison, Cody and Maggie, Jared and Kaleigh, Jake, Casey, Matt, Cassidy, Addison, Stevie, Nicole, and Alex—and great-grandchildren Ayden, John Tex, Maddie, and Charlie, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy. His sisters, Barbara Holland and Fonda Thompson, remain part of his enduring family circle, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and friends who cherish his memory.
Connie was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Carl Welch, his siblings Larry Don, Eddie Mac, FL, Sue, Leon, and his nephew Mac Welch. Their memories remain a treasured part of his story and the foundation upon which his family stands.
Visitation for Connie William Welch will be held on June 11, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harrell Funeral Home, located at 112 North Camden Street, Dublin, Texas 76446 (https://www.google.com/maps/search/112+North+Camden+Street,+Dublin,+Texas+76446?entry=gmail&source=g). A funeral service to honor his life will take place on June 12, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the same location.
