Bobby Loil Richmond, 86, went to be with the Lord on June 9, 2022 at his home in Dublin, TX. He was born on November 5, 1935 in Oakwood, TX to his parents Joe D. and Beatrice (Simpson) Richmond. Bobby Richmond married Margaret Wanda (Whitehead) Richmond and together they had five children: Sharon, Rickey, Tony, Kathi, and Patricia, fifteen grandchildren: Jenny, Bobby Joe, Mary, Michelle, John, Becky, Rachael, Josh, Ben, Hollie, Katie, Jacob, Chad, Cory Lynn, and Joe, twenty-six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Bobby served in the Army for twenty-three years. He was a Korean and Vietnam war veteran. He served two tours in Germany. He was on the rifleman team most of the time in the states and Germany. He was an avid marksman. He was awarded the Army "Distinguished Rifleman Badge" in 1966 over a series of matches. The Distinguished Rifleman Badge is the Army's highest award for marksmanship. He retired from the Army in 1977 and made his home in Dublin. He worked for the Corps of Engineers at Lake Proctor until his health would not allow him anymore. Bobby's hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Bobby was proceeded in death by his parents, his daughter Sharon Lee Moncrief, his brother Alvin Richmond, his baby sister Virginia May Richmond, and his baby brother Archie Earl Richmond.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Richmond of Dublin, TX, his sons and daughters-in-law Rickey and Robin Richmond of Dublin, TX and Tony and Brenda Richmond of Stephenville, TX, his daughter and son-in-law Kathi Ann and Kerry Bullard of Dublin, TX, his daughter and her husband Patricia Lynn Richmond Blackshear and Cory Lawson of Alexander, TX, his grandchildren Bobby Joe, Jennifer, Mary, Michelle, John Micheal, Chad, Hollie, Katie, Jacob, Josh, Becky, Ben, Racheal, Cory Lynn, and Joe, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, his sister and brother-in-law Carol and Jim Mead of Houston, TX, and numerous other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Proctor Cemetery.
A visitation will take place Monday, June 13, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Harrell Funeral Home.
