Betty Ann Vanderpool, 72, of Stephenville, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on December 7, 2017. She was born to Balvin Elliot and Daisy F. (Wallace) Elliot on September 17, 1945 in Dallas, Texas.

She married Bennie Vanderpool, on October 12, 1963, in Dublin, Texas. Together they raised three children, Bennie, Jeannie, and Sheri.

Betty attended Tarleton State University where she graduated in 1980 with a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse for both the Stephenville and Dublin hospitals, and for Stephen Home Health. Betty was a Baptist and member of the Nurse Association. Memorials in honor of her can be made to the American Legion.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband on August 31, 2004, and also by her mother, father, and brother, David Elliot.

She will be remembered by her children - Bennie & Sharla Vanderpool of Dublin, Texas, Jeannie & Barry Simpson of Glen Rose, Texas, and Sheri Vanderpool of Stephenville, Texas; her siblings - Debby Simmons of Azle, Texas, Linda Peterman of Kennedale, Texas, Peggy Coston of Kilgore, Texas, Betty Cooper of Hamilton, Texas, and Billy Elliot of Brownwood, Texas; her granddaughters - Stephanie Simpson, Kennedy Hansen, and Shelby Simpson; her grandsons - William Vanderpool, Zachary Simpson, Michael Vanderpool, and Ryan Hansen; many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
