A Memorial Service for Barbara LaVerne Stevens will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will be held at the Harrell Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 6-8 P.M.
On December 16, 2018, after a fulfilling life shared with her family, Barbara Stevens was greeted at the gates of heaven by her husband Don. Barbara was born on August 25, 1939 in Galveston, Texas to Vernon D. Kite & Vivian B. Stephen. She happily married Don Wayne Stevens on January 24, 1959 in Dublin, Texas and together welcomed four daughters into the world.
Barbara spent her life at Don's side, travelling together during their academic endeavors. She cherished her family, carefully collecting family photos and mementos. She was a talented homemaker, gardener and proud historian of her family legacy.
Barbara retired from Mineral Wells I.S.D. as a special education teacher. During her retirement, friends and locals could see her greeting patrons at Harrell Funeral Home. She was a follower of Christ and a member of First United Methodist Church of Dublin.
Always kind, always supportive - Barbara will surely be missed in our family and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don on May 9, 2008, her sister Vera on June 23, 2002, and her grandson Jeremy Ware on June 10, 2018.

and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and so many friends who will miss her dearly.
She will be laid to rest in Barbee Cemetery.
Memorials can be made out to the First United Methodist Church in Dublin, Texas.
