Annetta Jeanne Jones Rollins of Wimberley, Te xa s entered into eternal life on August 30, 2020. She was the daughter of Willard and Overa Jones of Snyder, Texas, born on October 26, 1936. T h e family moved to Hamlin, Texas where she graduated from Hamlin H i gh School in 1953. S h e earned a bachelors degree majoring in art from Hardin-Simmons University and master's degree from Abilene Christian University. She taught Special Education prior to teaching art at Madison Jr. High and Cooper High School. She accepted a position with Texas Education Association in Austin Texas where she served 23 years as Director of Fine Arts. Jeanne was passionate about art and promoting art education, touching countless lives. She was a long-time membe r of TA E A, Texas Art Education Association, receiving the distinguished honor of Texas Art Educator of the Year in 1983 and NAEA, National Art Education Association, serving as Program Coordinator in 1988. Jeanne was a very talented artist in ceramics, painting, sculpture, contemporary quilting, jewelry and weaving. She loved nature, gardening and had a keen eye for all things beautiful. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dick Rollins, daughter Regena Hatchett of San Antonio and son Richard Rollins and wife Kelly of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was grandmother to Ryan Burrow and wife Dr. Erica Sharp of Austin and Colby Hatchett and wife Amanda of Denton Valley, Texas and the proud great grandmother to Sarah Burrow, Haden Hatchett, Claire Rollins and Chris Rollins.
Graveside services will be at Hanson Cemetery in Comanche County Saturday September 5th at 1:00 p.m. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly. Gone but not forgotten, may she rest in peace.
